Kerry fans torn as Kingdom release new traditional-looking jersey ahead of 2022 season

Kerry GAA fans are torn over their new kit after the Kingdom launched a new ‘traditional look’ kit.

County released the new strip ahead of the 2022 season, which will be available from the Kerry GAA store, with the new design centered around their famous crest.

However, he has some serious classic jerseys to match – and not all fans were convinced after today’s release as supporters took to Twitter.

One fan joked that it could help them against their Cork rivals: “The shirt is so bad it could hurt the eyes of Cork players. A solid plan.”

Kerry’s adviser, Jackie Healy-Rae, added: “I don’t want to be negative about it, but there’s a bit of a pretense about it and the ‘Kerry band’ is a miss.”

“Lovely, glad they got rid of the yellow sleeves,” one fan noted.

One fan noted that the jersey will be a hit with families as the Kerry Ladies and Camogie teams will be wearing the same jersey: “Finally a Kerry jersey for the whole family with @kerryladiesfoot and @kerrycamogie joining their footballing and screaming brethren”.
