New York Mets plan Friday lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks

It will be a welcome homecoming for the Mets on Friday.

After a month and a half away from New York with spring training and seven regular season games between Washington and Philadelphia, opening day at Citi Field is finally here. The Mets kick off a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks starting at 1:05 p.m. Friday.

The day will be packed with events, including the unveiling of the statue of Tom Seaver in front of the stadium in a ceremony at 10.30am. Owners Steve and Alex Cohen, along with Seaver’s widow Nancy and daughters Sarah and Anne will be in attendance, along with Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Piazza.
